1. Wind Ensemble Day Camp: Wind Ensemble will meet this Sat, Jan 10 from 9 to 3:30pm (lunch 12 to 1pm) in Barnum Hall and the Band room. Note: School website home page times are incorrect. A flyer was sent home with the students on Monday with the schedule, so please ask to see it.

2. Concert Volunteers: We need volunteers willing to take tickets and hand out programs for BOTH nights of the Winter Concert, Tuesday,January 13th and Wednesday, January 14th. Consider volunteering for a day OTHER than the day your child has their concert. Contact Jennifer Hammer at (310) 795-7229

3. London Marching Band Uniforms: Marching Band Uniforms that went to London are due back this week (Mon, Jan 5 to Fri, Jan 9). When students bring the uniforms to school, they should hang them on the racks in the Guard room alphabetically by their last names as they normally would after a competition. This deadline is for the uniforms that went to London only! Football uniforms will be due at a later date. 5. Winter Band Concert Dates: The Winter Band Concert performances will be on the following dates: *Winter Band Concert - Part 1 Tue, Jan 13 at 7pm - Concert Winds, Symphonic Winds, Concert Band *Winter Band Concert - Part 2 Wed, Jan 14 at 7pm - Wind Ensemble only We will be treated to the program the Wind Ensemble will be performing in Fresno in February! *A ticket order form is attached to this newsletter. If you cannot open it, you can access it off of the band website. There was also a ticket order form for winter tickets included in the mailing earlier this semester. **Tickets will be honored at both performances - Only one purchase is necessary for both dates**

6. Band Concert Programs (update): *There is room for Concert Grams for next week's Winter program! Concert Grams are greetings to and from anybody in the band program. Send a message to your student, to teachers, to friends, but we need the order(s) very soon to include in the winter program. $15 for 20 words - $ 25 for 21-40 words. Write a check to SMBPA and submit to the band box in the music room. Text should be e-mailed asap and no later than Thursday Jan. 8th by 11 am in order to make it in the program for the winter concerts next week. *Call for '09 Senior Baby Pictures!! When you are going through old photos - pick your favorite baby picture! The POPS concert program will feature all (baby) '09 Senior Musicians. Send your baby photo now, May and June get very busy. Photos can be submitted to the SMBPA box at school, make sure to protect the photo in an envelope and to put your name on the back. All photos will be returned. The easiest way to submit is to scan your photo and send a 300 dpi jpeg file

7. Band Buttons: Band buttons are now available for sale! They are $1.00 each and there are some pre-packaged sets of six for $5.00. We will take requests for other pictures or logos on buttons and will make more as the need arises (to prevent having unsold buttons). Contact Sharon for more information

8. Marching Band Photo Rosters: These handy rosters will be a useful directory, as well as a nice keepsake/yearbook for the year the band traveled to London! If you haven't received yours, put your order in with Sharon

9. Football Uniforms: We will not be going to anymore football games this season, but the uniforms must be kept at home until Mr. Sakow tells the band to return them, probably in January. Please do not dry clean, but hang them up nicely and keep the gauntlets in the garment bag. If you have any questions please contact Keiko
