Raising Money for Music!The Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District only funds a fraction of the operating costs of the Samohi Music Programs. In order to purchase music, instruments, equipment and instruction for our students, we depend on the generosity and support of parents and community members. Marching Band Activity Fee In order to run a marching band, there a numerous expenses that are not covered by the school district - some examples include: transportation costs for equipment, specialized instruction, drill and music preparation, uniform cleaning and maintenance, and entry fees. The activity fees help cover part of these expenses. Fundraising pays the rest and provides scholarships for students who are not able to pay activity fees. |
